La Casa at the Patong Bay Garden resort is a trattoria of bricked walls, tiled floors and large windows that offers a casual and relaxing atmosphere in which you can enjoy a medley of both traditional and innovative Italian dishes. Pastas, pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven, salads meat and seafood dishes and other specially prepared foods are the exquisite creations of Chef Mario.
Upon the recommendations of the chef, we started with a selection of appetizers that included a bruschetta of marinated tomato and melted cheese, a tomato and Mozzarella salad with three lettuce types in balsamic vinaigrette and a Sardine Carpaccio with pesto. Varying texttures and combinations proved a delight to the taste with the carpaccio being a surprising treat and a display of the chef's innovative cuising.

The pasta course of a Fettuccine Marinara followed next. The large-sized mussel and Andaman Sea prawns in a tomato sauce were welcome additions to a traditional favourite. The last course of New Zealand lamb chops wass well spiced and cooked to medium rare perfection.
From La Casa's wine menu, we chose the Noble Vintage of Chile, a Cabernet Sauvignon that complemented our selection of dishes perfectly.
A special creation of the chef's, a tiramisu with dark rum and chocolate sauce, and two capuccinos proved to be the perfect way to top of the evening.
Traditional and innovative Italian dishes with homemade flavours that are served in a relaxing atmosphere are what make La Casa stand a cut above the others. Now that's Italian!
